A guide on effectively broadcasting pre-recorded content to your audience
1. Screen Share with AudioIf you're using a recommended, Chromium-based browser, you can share your screen with audio with your audience.
2. Virtual Webcam
Virtualizing your webcam with third-party software allows you to pass pre-recorded video content into Crowdcast as if it were a live video feed from a webcam.
3. RTMP Studio
Our RTMP Studio option enables you to use professional live streaming software with Crowdcast. Your video feed is entirely configured within third-party software, such as OBS, then sent into Crowdcast through RTMP (real-time messaging protocol) where it is broadcast live to your audience. Keep it authentic
Crowdcast is built to be a live*-*streaming platform, so you'll still need to click go live and end broadcast even when streaming pre-recorded content during your event. We recommend that you let your audience know that the video content is pre-recorded, but you'll still interact with them live in the background and in the chat.
Set expectations
Communication and clear expectations are key to maintaining authenticity and earning the respect of your audience. A great way to set expectations is by customizing your Crowdcast registration page with the topics you'll be covering in your event. You may also consider adding a note stating that, while the presentation might be pre-recorded, you will still be live in the event and there to meet your audience and answer questions. Keep it interactive
Engaging in the chat, answering incoming questions, and chat moderation are musts for highly engaging and successful events. One of the benefits of streaming pre-recorded content is that your attention is freed up to answer questions through the chat and get to know the people who chose to show up for your event!
Follow up with a live Q&A
Many creators on Crowdcast host a pre-recorded webinar session and then immediately jump into a second session for a live Q&A. Because your first session is pre-recorded, you can take note of any questions that come up during that presentation and then pre-load them as questions for the live Q&A, thereby delivering an event that is both highly informative and interactive!
